Author's note regarding Thought Field Therapy and QEEG Changes In the Treatment of Trauma: A Case Study
The methods and procedures reported and described in the paper reflect the state of the art of how Dr. Diepold practiced thought field therapy at that time. The reader will notice several areas of similarity and difference between the procedures reported in the paper and the current practice of Evolving Thought Field Therapy (EvTFT) as described in the book. For example, while Thought Directed Diagnosis was employed in the study to determine the treatment sequences of meridians, tapping on designated meridian points was used for treatment as the Touch-and Breathe (TAB) treatment was still being field-tested. This study also provides an opportunity to view the evolving nature of this form of psychotherapy and the quick results immediately observed across the emotional and brain wave domains. The paper reported a follow-up at 18 months post-treatment that the patient had continued to be symptom free regarding the targeted trauma. As of January 2008, approximately 8 years later, the patient continues to enjoy the same symptom free experience regarding the treated trauma. It
remains the authors' expectation that this study, along with other similar
case studies, will be submitted to peer reviewed journals to provide additional
evidence regarding the efficacy of thought field therapies. |
